Lesson 1 — CISSP Orientation, ISC2 Overview, Exam Structure, and Diagnostic Assessment
Introduction
This opening lesson establishes the foundation for the CISSP preparation program. It introduces learners to ISC2, the role and value of the CISSP certification, the structure and expectations of the training program, and the operational framework of the Cyber School learning environment. Students will gain an understanding of the certification process—from exam mechanics to the endorsement pathway—and will become familiar with the digital resources and official ISC2 materials provided to them. The session concludes with a diagnostic assessment designed to measure baseline knowledge across the eight CISSP domains and guide personal study planning.

Cyber School Overview
Cyber School is an international cybersecurity education initiative focused on building professional pathways into cybersecurity. The organization operates extensive learning programs across multiple sectors, including youth education, university partnerships, corporate upskilling, and international certification preparation.
Although Cyber School works with global organizations, universities, and certification bodies, its mission is rooted in public benefit. Many of its programs—including this CISSP bootcamp—are delivered as part of its voluntary commitment to developing national cyber expertise.
Cyber School collaborates with:
- ISC2 (official CISSP and CC preparation)
- LPI (Linux & Security Essentials)
- Python Institute (PCEP)
- Academic institutions in Israel, Europe, and the United States
The CISSP course is delivered through the Cyber School LMS platform and supported by official ISC2 materials.
Cyber School LMS Platform
During Lesson 1, learners are onboarded to the Cyber School Learning Management System (LMS), which provides:
- Session presentations
- Academic theoretical booklets
- Lesson companion worksheets
- Practice questions and assessments
- Domain simulations
- Video recordings of each session
- Discussion sections and instructor communication
- Links to external ISC2 resources
Learners are asked to log in during the orientation session to ensure full access to course materials. The LMS will serve as the primary repository for all course content.
Accessing the Official ISC2 CISSP Training Kit
Each participant receives an individual activation code that unlocks the Official ISC2 CISSP Training Kit, which includes:
- The official CISSP digital textbook (VitalSource)
- Learning chapters for all eight domains
- End-of-domain quizzes
- Official ISC2 slide content
- Printable key takeaways
- Practice question banks
- Progress-tracking tools
- Study plan templates
During the session, the instructor guides learners step-by-step through the access and activation process, including:
- Creating or logging into an ISC2 account
- Redeeming the access code
- Accessing the textbook via VitalSource
- Verifying that all course materials are available
The ISC2 kit is the authoritative source for all CISSP exam content.
